GHG Local

A Community-Level GHG Inventory for Local Government Units in the Philippines: User’s Manual was developed by the Climate Change Commission in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Philippines, through its Building Low Emission Alternatives to Develop Economic Resilience and Sustainability (B-LEADERS) Project. The Manual provides a step-by-step guide for local government units to quantify and manage information and data related to the development of their community-level greenhouse gas inventories. It is also accompanied by a GHG Inventory Quantification Support Spreadsheet for actual estimation and calculation of GHG emissions.

The User's Manual and spreadsheet are among the topics to be discussed during the series of training for Local Governments on GHG Inventory which aims to capacitate LGUs in institutionalizing GHG inventory in the planning process, creating a baseline inventory for GHG emissions and identifying and tagging potential climate mitigation options to be included in their respective local climate change action plans.
